HOME Welcome to the HCM Church Outers Club! The Outers is a parish club whose goal is to integrate sport and faith, foster fellowship and develop a keen awareness of the role sport can play in the development of the life of faith in Christ. ----------------------- Mens Sana Incorpore Sano | Bishop John Tong Hon | August 28th, 2008 Personally, I enjoy sports, not just as a spectator but also as a player. Although I am no longer a young man, I still play basketball occasionally. My performance was never great, and now I run more slowly, yet a basketball game is fun, good physical training and a chance to socialize. Exercise is good for both the body and the mind, "mens sana in corpore sano." I could not deal with the pressure and anxiety of my work without daily prayer. I likewise feel that physical activity is good for all of us... Read on >> -------------------- Sessions: GVS on Thursdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. All men (15 years +) are welcome. Baklinski and Andrew Hamon Congratulations winners and a big thanks to all participants, helpers -- especially the Paternaude family for the use of their power boat, the Hanlons for the use of their beach front villa, and all those loving women who turned the pot-luck into a Sunday feast. Sport Nights: All indoor sport nights are held at George Vanier School in Combermere, Thursday's from 6:30 to 8:30pm. There are presently two groups, the kids and the men, alternating weekly sessions. Considerations: Kids Nights: Ages
3 to 14. Tots 3-5 require that a guardian be present to "actively"
assist and supervise. Donations are being
collected after each session so that we can make a donation to GV School
sport fund. One half will be used to fund some of our own Outer activities
such as bus transportation, admission fees, and a summer pizza picnic. May 20, 2004: Men's Sport Night: indoor soccer, volleyball camp, volleyball, special events and social at eh Church dock afterwards.

Exploration: The Falls, Fishing the Whirpool, hiking
the Niagara Gorge, Mount Carmel and the Shrine of St. Therese, Catholic
artist's tour, strawberry and early peach picking, and one night camping
in Upper Canada's former capital - Queenston, now Niagara-On-The-Lake.
